Codes of conduct
Mid Cheshire code of conduct
Children as you know, develop
differently and at different rates, they react differently to the same pressures.
In the Mid-Cheshire Youth Football League we are attempting to give all the
young people who play and referee soccer a good and worthwhile experience.
The relationships with all the adults at the matches and at the training
must be positive, sporting and above all be part of the example adults should
be setting for the young people in their charge. You must all remember:
- Young people are not playing to satisfy your ambitions.
- Young people are involved for their enjoyment, not yours.
- You have a responsibility to encourage young people to play by the rules and the spirit of the game.
- Teamwork and effort are as important as winning. You should accept losing without undue dissapointment.
- Do not allow your winning side to gloat over their glory.
- Never ridicule or shout at a young person for making a mistake or losing, praise them - or keep quiet.
- Set an example - applaud good play by both teams.
- Never publicly question the referee's decisions. Never doubt his honesty or integrity.
- Help remove all verbal and physical abuse in soccer.
- Recognise the value and importance of the coaches who give up their time to help young people.
So much good work
can be undone by one unsavoury incident. Be responsible. Obey this Code of
Conduct and allow everyone to watch the best game in the world.
If you cannot
abide by this Code of Conduct then we would insist that you do not attend
matches in the Mid Cheshire Youth Football League.
This League adopts a policy
of withdrawing the registrations of players who have parents, guardians etc,
who fail to meet acceptable standards of behaviour.
Offending Clubs are likely
to have their membership of this League cancelled for failing to control
players, spectators and officials.
